When do stella and ted break up

The movie was written by Tony and it was undisputably based on Ted's romance with Stella. Even though it painted Ted in a bad light, the movie was a monumental hit and became the fifth highest-grossing movies of all-time.

The success of Tony's film certainly affected Stella's life in a positive way as it must have opened up more doors for their future. Prior to attending Robin and Barney's wedding , Ted went on a mission to find the former's missing locket.

He contacted a number of his ex-girlfriends who may have gotten a hold of it, including Stella. By this point, Stella was still living in Los Angeles and was presumably happily married to Tony. Stella worried that Ted's interest in the locket meant that he was going to ruin Robin and Barney's wedding. It takes 10 sessions for Stella to man up and tell Ted that she has a daughter.

Sure, they do end up dating for a while and even getting engaged, but putting him through that kind of turmoil tells you what kind of person she is. It was cute, but it showcased just how bland her character really was. After everything she did to him, Stella somehow has the nerve to try and ask Ted to help her win Tony back. A misunderstanding between Ted and Stella about the break-up may jeopardize them getting back together again.

The accident also brings into clearer light the status of Ted and Barney's currently estranged friendship. Meanwhile, Marshall and Robin argue about what constitutes a miracle.

Ted refuses to do so, but takes advantage of the help she tries to offer him to make things better when Barney calls him from a police station in New Jersey to come and get him. Stella drives him back and forth, and the two have a short conversation in her car, where she assures Ted that the "one" for him is on the way, and that she's getting to him "as fast as she can".

Ted thanks her and leaves. Afterwards, Stella moves to California with Tony. It shows Ted in a bad light, showing that Stella is very spiteful towards Ted. Stella reappears in Sunrise , when Ted calls her to ask about Robin's locket. She thinks that Ted is trying to ruin Robin's wedding, but she gives him permission to search for the locket in her storage unit in Los Angeles.
