Which godzilla was the most powerful
Part machine and part animal, Gigan's body doesn't make a whole lot of sense. But Gigan is still considered one of the toughest foes of the s. Gigan is pretty much a giant Swiss Army Knife. He has a laser that he shoots out of his forehead, he can pull enemies into his spinning blade, and he can fly. Sadly, Gigan is one of the more arrogant monsters of the Godzilla universe, and it is here where he often meets his demise.
Another Swiss Army Monster, Megalon can seemingly do anything he wants. He can fly, and burro underground. He has a pair of spinning drills for arms. The thing that sticks out of his head shoots lightning bolts. He looks like a cockroach from hell and was sent by a group of underground humans to conquer the world. But even with everything going for him, he still needs Gigan to help him fight off Godzilla and Jet Jaguar.
And he still managed to lose. Much like Gigan before him, Megalon was simply not cunning enough to withstand Godzilla and his allies. The result of a freak accident at a lab, Biollante begins life as a rose, before morphing into a freakish monster that takes root in Tokyo bay.
Despite her ugliness, she's actually an ally to mankind, who's possessed by the spirit of a girl who died in a bombing. Biollante's mouth is full of hundreds of razor-sharp teeth, and she spits an acid that melts flesh. She also has an army of Venus Flytraps that can extend as long as she needs them.
They can sprout out of the water and hold an enemy down, or pull them into her jaws. While Godzilla was too much for her to bear, the spirit that occupied her continues to live on. Another creature born who is part Godzilla, Space Godzilla was created when some of Godzilla's skin cells were accidentally carried into space by Mothra. The result was a creature equal to Godzilla in almost every way, with the addition of psychic abilities that put him a cut above his earth-born counterpart.
Space Godzilla can pick up and throw things with his mind, including Godzilla, and he was able to spawn crystal pits that give him power. He could also levitate and fly in order to get to where he needs to be. In the end, though, Godzilla and G-Force's Moguera unit made quick work of this Godzilla wannabe, and his potential was ultimately wasted. A Frankenstein-like monster, combining pieces of the dead King Ghidorah with mechanical parts, Mecha-King Ghidorah is the most advanced and powerful mech of the Heisei era.
Created in the 23rd century, the cyborg was sent back almost three hundred years in the past to prevent the destruction of Japan by Godzilla.
Combining advanced, almost otherworldly technology with Ghidorah's size and strength, Mecha-King Ghidorah was the best of both worlds. In addition to firepower from three heads and powerful grapples that were strong enough to restrain anything, Mecha-King Ghidorah could have been the death of Godzilla himself. And while he was defeated, his mechanical remains were used by G-Force to build Mechagodzilla.
Created by the oxygen destroyer that killed the first Godzilla in , Destoroyah is the grim reaper of the Godzilla series. Appearing around the same time that Godzilla was dying, Destoroyah threatened to end the human race with his army of crab-like minions.
And with Godzilla's death threatening to cause the apocalypse, Destoroyah's spawn could've replaced the human race as earth's dominant species. Able to break himself down into smaller versions of himself, Destoroyah is a threat on every level. His arsenal of attacks includes a horn that could turn into a katana, able to slice through anything and everything. Not even Godzilla could kill Destoroyah, and he defeated, it was a hollow victory.
There have been three incarnations of Godzilla's robotic doppelganger in the live-action Toho films. The first from was built by space aliens to take over the world. But no matter who built him, Mechagodzilla has remained one of Godzilla's most formidable foes. Possessing state-of-the-art weaponry like missiles, lasers, and jetpacks, Mechagodzilla has everything he needs to tame his adversaries.
While Godzilla usually beats him in the end, there have been more than a few times when Mechagodzilla has come close to toppling the King of the Monsters for good. In that film, it was a weapon designed by Apex Cybernetics to kill Godzilla, Kong, and the rest of the titans. It's particularly driven to kill Godzilla, considering it was partially crafted with Ghidorah's skull. This also means that it was a version of Mechagodzilla that was controlled by neither man nor alien, it was essentially a sentient organism.
As such, Mothra is among the strongest, even if largely pacifistic kaiju around. Baragon is one of many monsters that had fought with Godzilla and badly lost to. An ancient reptilian creature, Baragon can also emit a beam of fire or heat.
This fire or heat is hot enough to assist in Baragon's digging ability, or as his weapon of choice. The vaguely dinosaur-like Baragon is capable of engaging in physical combat when needed.
Baragon has shown to surprise Godzilla with its jumping charge, and even bite him. While admirable for Baragon, this feat cannot really compare with Godzilla's other opponents. Destoroyah arose from the Oxygen Destroyer, a weapon that killed the first and original Godzilla in the film that started it all. A creature of death and destruction, Destoroyah poses an existential threat to all life on Earth and is among the few monsters that can kill Godzilla in a one-on-one fight.
With abilities that rival or even surpass the King of the Monsters such as strength and durability , Destoroyah had fought against Godzilla at the height of his power.
Destoroyah was eventually destroyed, however, by a combination of Godzilla's nuclear meltdown and being frozen by the Japanese military. Kamacuras describes not just one, but multiple giant praying mantis-like creatures.
Kamacuras still remains among the weakest monsters and for good reason; they are easily taken out by Godzilla's atomic breath. There may be strength in numbers, but these creatures are ultimately and laughably no match for Godzilla and many other kaiju in the franchise. One of Godzilla's deadliest and strongest foes is the dreaded King Ghidorah. Arguably Godzilla's greatest enemy, this three-headed dragon from outer space seeks to destroy Earth, like so many planets before it.
Regardless of whether or not he is under the control of other parties such as invading aliens , King Ghidorah remains an extremely dangerous, as well as global threat. Monsters that gave him trouble in the past, like Hedorah and Rodan, were no longer a challenge for him. The MonsterVerse made sure Godzilla lived up to the reputation established by the Showa, Heisei, and Millennium portrayals of the character by once again depicting him as superior to his opponents.
Godzilla ultimately did need help from Mothra to take down Ghidorah in Godzilla: King of the Monsters , but it was revealed in the middle of the movie that Godzilla was indeed capable of killing him on his own. As expected, Godzilla is impervious to missiles and possesses immense, seemingly unrivaled strength. His ability to adapt his body to different situations made it possible for him to gain new abilities over the course of the film. All other incarnations of Godzilla can fire atomic breath from their mouths, but this one could shoot numerous atomic beams of energy from his back spikes and tail.
With so many weapons at his disposal, he could bring harm to any enemy, but his biggest weakness would of course be his atypically short arms.
This design would have been a huge disadvantage if he ever had to engage another monster in physical combat. Mechagodzilla, armed with all sorts of high-powered missiles and laser cannons, was capable of pushing Godzilla to his limit.
He nearly killed Godzilla in Godzilla vs. That being said, Godzilla is usually able to beat Mechagodzilla without assistance. SpaceGodzilla, who boasts a wide array of abilities, proved to be more powerful than the Godzilla from the Heisei series.
In their first fight, Godzilla failed to bring down SpaceGodzilla. It was only after getting help from Moguera that it became possible for SpaceGodzilla to be destroyed.
He has a degree in journalism from the University of Montevallo, and is the author of the psychological thriller and time travel novel, "A Man Against the World. His favorite actors are Tyrone Power and Eleanor Parker.
